Purpose: Search Solutions is a multi-disciplinary platform for search (information retrieval) experts where information scientists from a broad range (from computer science to library science) meet and discuss the most recent developments in the field. There is also a recent shift in information resources to equip their products with Semantic Vector Search alongside Lexical Boolean Search. To prepare the community of practice, we need LIS professionals and the next generation (students) to lead the community’s embrace of recent changes. This is possible through mutual collaboration between library science and computer science, and by bridging the gap between the development and user fronts.
